Now, when you are promoting stuff on Twitter via their 140-character update, you can add the hash tag #fb to the end and it will also automatically post your update to Facebook. Now, both audiences are informed.
What if you have stuff on Twitter and you want to also promote to Delicious.com or StumbleUpon, as well as Facebook? Now you need to centralize your promotional activities by getting a URL shortener like Ping.fm. This serves two purposes.
